When applied to HVAC air filters, our Antimicrobial Air Filter Treatment imparts microbiostatic properties into their filtration media that inhibit the growth of microorganisms and help prevent the growth and spread of bacteria for up to 3 months … protecting system filtration capabilities, while enhancing the Indoor Air Quality in the spaces they serve.

PermaSafe Antimicrobial Air Filter SHIELD also suppresses system and air duct odors, helps prevent their return, and further elevates Indoor Air Quality by inhibiting the growth of odor causing bacteria, mold, fungi, algae and other microorganisms. Multi-surface SHIELD is equally effective on filter grilles, housings, and related system components.

And because SHIELD contains no harsh or hazardous chemicals or other adverse ingredients, it’s EPA rated “Category IV” for toxicity, the very lowest toxicity rating any antimicrobial product can be awarded, and one that means no gloves, masks or other Personal Protection Equipment are necessary when applying it and no Precautionary Statements or Hazard Warnings are required on its labels. It’s also colorless, odorless, non-flammable, non-staining, harmless to HVAC System components, and it doesn’t wear off or wear out with normal system operation or maintenance.

Formulated for fast, 1-step applications, and packaged in fine mist spray bottles, it’s remarkably easy to apply … and it lasts and remains antimicrobially effective for up to 3 Months, making it a must for all air filter replacements and maintenance.

Directions for Use

IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW TO USE THIS PRODUCT IN A MANNER INCONSISTENT WITH ITS LABELING.

BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT: It is vital that the following directions be carefully read and understood prior to using this product. If you need help in understanding any part of these directions or have additional questions after reading these directions, DO NOT APPLY THIS PRODUCT until you have received the answers to all of your questions. All surfaces should be cleaned prior to product application. Using the Fine Mist Spray Bottle it is packaged in, proceed as follows:

FOR TREATING DISPOSABLE HVAC AIR FILTERS: Carefully apply product to both sides of new air filters by spraying each side 4”- 6” from its surface, making sure each side is completely covered. Allow filter to stand until fully dry. A fan can be used to speed the drying process.

FOR TREATING REUSABLE HVAC AIR FILTERS: If dirty, clean filter per filter manufacturer’s instructions, allow to fully dry, using a fan to speed drying process if desired. Carefully apply product to both sides of the clean, dry reusable filter material, 4”- 6” from each surface, making sure each side is completely covered. Repeat above drying procedure.

FOR TREATING RETURN AIR GRILLES, HOUSINGS & OTHER RETURN AIR COMPONENTS: Spray entire target surface 4”- 6” from surface, making sure all surfaces are completely covered. Apply and then let stand until dry, or let stand 3 for minutes and wipe dry with cloth or sponge.

Frequency of Application

DISPOSABLE AIR FILTERS: Apply to each replacement filter, following the above instructions.

REUSABLE AIR FILTERS: Reapply product after each filter cleaning, ideally no less often than every 3 months, to renew antimicrobial barrier.

RETURN AIR GRILLES, HOUSINGS, RACKS & OTHER RETURN AIR COMPONENTS: Reapply product every 3 months to replenish antimicrobial barrier.
